The SEADRA System
The SEADRA Program first launched
on January 1st, 1999. It was developed for the purpose of
providing used motor vehicle dealers a package of services
which would allow those dealers to offer used motor vehicles
for rental, with the option for the renter to purchase the
vehicle at the end of the rental term. It has since become
America's largest Rent-to-Own dealer program.
SEADRA offers a plan that allows
dealers to engage in long-term rentals of used motor vehicles.
The Rent-to-Own package of services enables the dealers to
secure the proper licensure, tax status, insurance coverage,
and necessary administrative compliance to allow them to successfully
rent these vehicles to car shoppers who are otherwise unable
to secure the credit necessary to purchase or lease a vehicle.
SEADRA also provides an oversight
function, whereby it tracks the liability policies covering
the used motor vehicles, including any lapses thereon, which
SEADRA would have then immediately reported to the dealer
and proper administrative agencies.
